This year, Chaplain Ted and Angie had the privilege of participating in the annual Community Extravaganza: Play, Connect, Thrive—an event designed to bring families together, raise awareness of local resources, and foster meaningful connections.
The day was a vibrant celebration of community, where children and families not only learned about the many resources available to them but also had the chance to play, bond, and thrive together.
A Day of Connection and Fun
The Grace Fellowship gym buzzed with energy as dozens of organizations and service providers set up interactive booths, ready to share valuable information and engage with families. Outside, food trucks rolled in, filling the air with the aroma of delicious meals as they prepared for the lunchtime crowd.
By mid-afternoon, it was clear that the event was a resounding success. Families enjoyed:
• Making new friends and connecting with their neighbors.
• Live orchestra performances and musical exhibitions, which created a festive and uplifting atmosphere.
• Games and activities that brought smiles to the faces of children and adults alike.
• Learning about community resources to strengthen their families.
• Sharing meals together, reinforcing the sense of togetherness.
The Power of Community Events
Events like the Community Extravaganza are vital for building synergy among community members and organizations. They create opportunities to spread the word about valuable resources while fostering relationships that strengthen the community as a whole.
Gratitude for the Opportunity to Serve
As Chaplain Ted and Angie continue their mission to increase stability for children, empower caregivers, and support the local church, they are deeply grateful for opportunities like this. Events like the Community Extravaganza remind us of the importance of collaboration, connection, and the joy of coming together to make a difference.
Let’s keep building strong, thriving communities—one event, one family, and one connection at a time.
