This month, we reached an incredible milestone—over $1 million in economic impact through our mission to serve children and families! Since beginning our full-time mission assignment, we’ve been tracking the economic impact of our work, and this achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration, faith, and perseverance.
But what does “economic impact” mean, and why is it important to report? Let’s break it down:
Direct Impact
Direct impact represents the immediate financial benefit of our efforts. This includes:
- Preventing foster care placements: By stepping in early, we help keep families together, saving taxpayer dollars that would otherwise go toward foster care services.
- Stabilizing placements: Supporting children and families reduces disruptions in foster care, which can be costly emotionally and financially.
- Facilitating adoptions: Ensuring children find permanent, loving homes helps reduce long-term costs associated with foster care and instability.
Indirect Impact
The ripple effects of stability go beyond immediate savings:
- Breaking generational cycles: Family breakdowns and foster care involvement can often lead to generational patterns of instability. By creating lasting change, we’re impacting generations to come.
- Reducing societal costs: Many adults who experience foster care are overrepresented in statistics on incarceration and welfare dependency. By intervening early, we help break this cycle, saving resources and giving these individuals a better chance to thrive.
To calculate these impacts, we use a conservative algorithm developed by CarePortal, ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting.
Why This Matters
Economic impact is more than numbers—it’s a reflection of lives changed. Every dollar saved represents a child stabilized, a family supported, and a future restored. Reporting this impact helps us:
- Show stewardship: It’s important to demonstrate the tangible results of the resources entrusted to us.
- Inspire collaboration: Numbers like these encourage churches, businesses, agencies, and communities to partner with us, knowing their contributions make a difference.
- Celebrate progress: Milestones remind us to pause, give thanks, and keep moving forward.
Thank You to Our Partners
We could never do this alone. This milestone is a shared victory, and we thank God for the churches, businesses, agencies, and communities that have joined us. Together, we’ve provided education, tangible resources, and spiritual support to children and families in need.
Let’s Celebrate!
Let’s take a moment to celebrate what God has done. Every prayer, partnership, and effort has contributed to this milestone. Here’s to continuing the work and trusting God for even greater impact in the future!
