Course Description
Join us for an insightful and interactive class designed for foster parents and caregivers focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities in caring for children with special needs or developmental challenges. This class will delve into common issues faced by foster parents, effective advocacy strategies, and building supportive environments tailored to each child’s needs. We will also explore the critical roles of multidisciplinary teams, the importance of early intervention, and practical advice for navigating the healthcare system. Participants will gain valuable tools and resources to enhance their ability to provide consistent, loving care while also managing their own well-being.
Course Instructors
PROFESSION: Chaplain to the foster and adoption community. CREDENTIALS: Ordained minister and endorsed chaplain through the Assemblies of God. PERSONAL: Has eleven children, loves the outdoors, and would like to see Alaska one day.
PROFESSION: Board Certified Behavior Analyst- Pediatric Behavioral Clinic- Ponte Vedra, FL. EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Education, University of Georgia. PERSONAL: I love evening walks on the beach, going to the gym, and family time with my husband, our 3 children and our golden doodle.
