As the year comes to a close, we are thrilled to reflect on the incredible growth and impact we’ve witnessed in 2024. Last week, I had the privilege of facilitating our final live remote training class for the year. The turnout was overwhelming, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the amazing foster families who not only attend faithfully but also spread the word about these sessions.
We ended the year on a high note, with 150 parents in attendance, collectively fostering 265 children. This milestone represents a 185% increase over our participation numbers in December 2023—a testament to the growing community of families committed to making a difference.
Celebrating Adoptions
In addition to the training sessions, we introduced a new element this month: an adoption celebration. As part of this initiative, we are celebrating 26 adoptions that took place in 2024 by sending each family a copy of our book, I Am Safe Now. This book is not just a gift; it’s a symbol of hope, security, and the power of love that transforms lives.
A Moment of Eternal Significance
One of the most memorable highlights of the year happened during the final moments of our last class. I had the opportunity to share the simplicity of the gospel with attendees. In a truly humbling and joyous moment, 51 parents let me know that they committed their lives to Christ through prayer with me. This is the kind of transformation that fuels our mission and reminds us why we do what we do.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we look forward to 2025, we firmly believe it will be our best year yet. We are so grateful to our partners, whose generosity allows us to offer these training sessions at no cost to foster and adoptive parents. Together, we are strengthening families and creating stable, loving environments for children who need them most.
Our prayer for the coming year is twofold:
- That we will see an increase in the number of children and families we can strengthen through our programs.
- That additional partners will join our support team to help us meet our 2025 budget and close the gap in resources.
