A great report from one of our partnering churches through collaboration.
Dear Ted and Angie,
At Grace Fellowship, serving others is more than just a mission—it’s a way of life. Today, we had the privilege of delivering Christmas joy to three families in Interlachen, Florida. The day was filled with wrapping gifts, assembling toys, and spreading love to families who need a little extra care this holiday season.
A Team Effort
The morning began with Grace Fellowship responders gathering at the church to wrap 46 gifts for six children in two families. “I am so grateful for all the responders’ help!” The team worked seamlessly, with some members donating wrapping paper, gift bags, and bows, while another responder contributed a 6-foot Christmas tree adorned with ornaments. This tree, won last year at the Festival of Trees fundraiser, found a new home with one of the families. The mother, touched by the gesture, shared that her old tree was falling apart.
One responder even brought a small gift specifically for the mom—a touching reminder that her hard work in caring for her children does not go unnoticed. Alongside the gifts, the family received a festive basket filled with fruit, Christmas cookies, flavored popcorn, and a heartfelt Christmas card. When we handed over the basket, the mother smiled and said they had just been planning a family movie night. The snacks couldn’t have come at a better time!
A Kitchen for Christmas
For another family, the morning’s efforts included assembling a play kitchen for two little girls. George, one of our responders, expertly put it together without a single leftover part—a small victory worth celebrating! The mom, a kind-hearted woman caring for young children on her own, expressed immense gratitude for the extra help with wrapping and assembly.
To show appreciation for this incredible caregiver, who has opened her home to 30 children of various races and abilities over the years, we brought her a flowering Christmas cactus. She shared stories of the children she’s nurtured, including one of the older children at home, a teen with Down syndrome, who eagerly helped us carry in the gifts.
This family also received a gift basket filled with treats and a Christmas card. Their gratitude was humbling, with the mom even extending an invitation to dinner—a heartwarming reminder of the connections we build when we serve.
The Heart of the Season
Moments like these remind us what the holiday season is truly about. It’s not just about the gifts or the decorations—it’s about the love and care we extend to one another. At Grace Fellowship, we are honored to be a part of these families’ lives, even in small ways, and to share the hope and joy of Christmas with them.
To all our volunteers, donors, and supporters—thank you for making days like today possible. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and their caregivers.

This Christmas, may we all be inspired to go the extra mile for those in need, just as Christ calls us to do.
