Today, Angie used her incredible gift of hospitality to bring joy to a group of extraordinary individuals—27 social workers who have answered a calling to serve children and families in need.
Their passion for making a difference was evident from the moment I arrived. Within five minutes, one of the caseworkers shared a touching story that left a lasting impression. She spoke about a recent moment when she used a gift card from our McDonald’s drive to buy a Happy Meal for a child.
This simple act of kindness made an extraordinary impact. For this child, visiting McDonald’s was a rare treat, and receiving a Happy Meal was a joy beyond measure. The social worker admitted that as she watched the child’s face light up, she struggled to hold back tears. It was a fleeting moment of happiness in the midst of this child’s challenging circumstances—a reminder of the power of small gestures to bring light to darkness.
We are profoundly grateful for these social workers, who have chosen to dedicate their careers to serving vulnerable children and families. Their compassion, resilience, and commitment are an inspiration to us all.
This Christmas, let’s continue to honor and support these unsung heroes who make the world a brighter place for those who need it most.
