Raising Children with Medical Needs: Hope, Help, and Practical Care for Everyday Families

This course equips foster and adoptive parents with foundational knowledge and practical strategies for caring for children with medical, developmental, and complex behavioral needs. Participants will gain insight into navigating healthcare systems, creating structured and safe home environments, supporting emotional regulation, and advocating effectively in educational and clinical settings.

Through expert-guided instruction, this training provides actionable tools to strengthen caregiver confidence, reduce risk, and promote stability and healing within the home.

Ted Stackpole Ted Stackpole Facilitator

Chaplain Ted Stackpole serves the foster and adoption community with deep compassion and commitment, drawing from years of experience as a spiritual leader and advocate for vulnerable children and families. He is an ordained minister and an endorsed chaplain with the Assemblies of God, offering guidance, hope, and pastoral care to those navigating the complexities of foster care and adoption. A devoted father of eleven, Ted enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and hopes to one day fulfill his dream of exploring the rugged beauty of Alaska.

Darren Lewis Darren Lewis Trainer

Darren Micah Lewis is the Lead Pastor of Calvary Christian Center (C3AG) in Louisville KY. He and His wife have four children. His youngest two are through international adoption.  Darren graduated with a BA in Biblical Studies from Central Bible College, now Evangel University, and a PhD in Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University. He also holds an MA in History from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Waxahachie, TX.  Darren currently serves as an Adjunct Professor and doctoral advisor for Trinity Bible College and Graduate School, Ellendale, ND. He has also served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Kentucky Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God since 2001.
