Overview:
This introductory course explores the foundational principles of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) — a research-based, trauma-informed caregiving model designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. In this training, you’ll hear from a TBRI professional as we unpack practical strategies for building trust and connection from the very first day a child enters your home or program.

Course Instructors
Chaplain Ted Stackpole serves the foster and adoption community with deep compassion and commitment, drawing from years of experience as a spiritual leader and advocate for vulnerable children and families. He is an ordained minister and an endorsed chaplain with the Assemblies of God, offering guidance, hope, and pastoral care to those navigating the complexities of foster care and adoption. A devoted father of eleven, Ted enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and hopes to one day fulfill his dream of exploring the rugged beauty of Alaska.
Jessica has been married to her husband for 29 years and is the proud mother of two amazing children, ages 17 and 12. She serves as the Family Advocacy Director at Faith Church in Anderson, Indiana, and is also a dedicated homeschooling mom. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Indiana University. As a TBRI® Practitioner, she provides trauma-informed education and practical parenting strategies for adoptive, foster, and kinship care families. She leads a monthly support group and finds deep joy in walking with parents through every stage of the foster and adoption journey. In her free time, Jessica loves being outdoors—soaking up the sunshine or relaxing by a campfire with her family.
