There are moments in ministry that feel sacred—moments where you can tangibly see the faithfulness of God unfolding over time. Recently, Angie and I had the privilege of experiencing one of those moments firsthand.
We were honored to be present at the SEND Celebration Service, where Pete and Jenn Eekhoff were officially recognized and fully appointed as U.S. Missionaries through Assemblies of God U.S. Missions.
What a powerful and well-deserved milestone.

A Calling Years in the Making
Pete and Jenn are not new to this work. Their appointment is not the beginning of their ministry—it is the recognition of what God has already been doing through their lives for years.
As the founders of Foster605, they have faithfully stepped into the gap for children and families impacted by the foster care system in South Dakota. Their work has gone beyond meeting needs—it has been about restoring dignity, building community, and mobilizing others to care.
They have lived this mission as foster parents themselves. They have walked with families in crisis. They have built bridges between the Church and the child welfare system. And through it all, they have remained steady, compassionate, and obedient to the call of God.
⸻
From Faithfulness to Fruitfulness
One of the things that stands out most about Pete and Jenn is that they didn’t wait for a title to start living on mission.
They simply said “yes.”
Yes to opening their home.
Yes to stepping into hard places.
Yes to believing that the Church can and should play a central role in caring for vulnerable children.
Foster605 is a reflection of that “yes”—a growing movement that surrounds foster families, supports biological families, and creates pathways for healing and restoration.
And now, through their official appointment with Assemblies of God U.S. Missions, their influence and impact will only expand.
⸻
A Moment We’ll Never Forget
Being in the room at the SEND Celebration Service was incredibly meaningful.
There’s something powerful about witnessing a couple stand before God and community, publicly affirmed in their calling. It wasn’t just a ceremony—it was a declaration:
This work matters. This calling is real. And the Church stands behind it.
We left that service encouraged, inspired, and deeply grateful.

A Prayer and a Blessing
Pete and Jenn—congratulations.
Your lives are a testimony of what it looks like to walk in obedience over the long haul. You have sown faithfully, and now we celebrate what God is continuing to grow through you.
May the Lord continue to:
• Strengthen your hands for the work
• Expand your influence for His kingdom
• Protect your family
• And multiply the impact of Foster605 beyond what you could imagine
The work you are doing is not just changing systems—it is changing lives.
And ultimately, it is pointing people to Jesus.

Moving Forward Together
Their appointment is not just their milestone—it’s an invitation to all of us.
An invitation to:
• Care
• Engage
• Support
• And say “yes” to the vulnerable in our own communities
Because when the Church steps in, everything can change.
